New kitty!
Re: New kitty!
She is so pretty - maybe has some long-hair like persian in her. What a doll! And the extra nice thing is that your new hubby brought her home to you. Good guy. My daughter and her husband just got married last year and they have 3 cats...my gran-kitties. Will post pic later.

Re: New kitty!
Oh, my husband's a prince. He couldn't be any more wonderful if I had special-ordered him from a catalogue!
She's definitely going to be a shedder. Her coat is so soft and fluffy. I didn't really want a long-haired cat; I have bad allergies, but she's not bothering me at all, so hopefully as she grows bigger, my allergies will adapt. That's what happened with my dog and my cat from years past. But hey, that's what vacuums are for, right? A little sneezing and itching is well worth the love of that adorable little kitten.

Re: New kitty!
Thanks so much, Traci. Cody, from all reports, is doing just fine. I'm still close friends with the ex's best friend (which is awkward at times, but we do have a very strong friendship). The ex's mom is a really sweet woman who adores that cat as much as I did -- which is the only reason that I haven't busted down her door to get him back. He's happy and loved, and that cat's her baby. So as long as he's happy and well-cared for, I suppose it's a good ending to a rotten story.
Anyway, life goes on, and it's going extremely well. We had a bunch of people over last night to watch the first hockey game of the season, and Izzy ended up being the star of the show! She put on a grand show of playing with her jingly plastic balls on the living room floor and was very friendly with everyone. Everybody got cuddle time. I was amazed at how friendly she was; I thought for certain she'd just hide under the couch, but nope! She wanted to party, too!
She's doing so well; she adores her toys, uses the scratching post, and comes to talk and snuggle with me all the time. I couldn't ask for a better kitty.

Glad to hear Cody's new parents are comitted and love him so much.
Just wondering, but you might ask your hubby (or whomever at the machine shop) to keep an eye out for other kittens and the mother, since queens usually stay with their kittens until they reach 10 or 12 weeks or so....

Re: New kitty!
That's what was so strange, they've never seen cats around there before... which is why they *didn't* bother looking around for mother cats, other kittens, or potential owners. There aren't a lot of... functioning citizens... living in that neighborhood. Honestly, it's in a really bad part of town; mostly drug houses and homeless people who would have no means or no inclination to keep a pet. If he sees anything more, we'll alert one of the local shelters, but I really doubt it. I think someone probably dumped Izzy in a nearby field, most likely. If she had any parents or sibilings, she didn't stick with them for long, for whatever reason.
