Awww, Karen, I'm sorry to hear this....but I agree with Skeptic, you might want to get him seen, you know all types of bacterial infections can crop up at any time, you don't really want to leave it unchecked. With the weekend coming up, just play it safe.

Here's hoping for nothing serious and that he and you will enjoy a wonderful 16th birthday.....hang in there.

Thanks again to everyone!

Skeptic and Traci:
Seeing the vet isn't out of the question. I didn't go yesterday because his only symptom was vomiting, which isn't that rare for a dog. He still has no fever, is urinating OK, no diarrhea and, from his breath, no dehydration (no "acetone"). He's been drinking well - it's as though he knows he needs to. He kept down the mashed potatoes all night so I gave him a very small amount of moistened, mashed kibble this morning to see how it goes. So far, so good, but if that comes up, it's off to the vet. My vet is open tomorrow morning, plus we have an emergency vet in the next town that I've used before should I need them, so I'm covered "vet-wise". My husband told me this morning that Angel also vomited 3 times yesterday after he got home, so I'm hoping that they both just got into something in the yard, and it's over. Mickey has always had a taste for weeds (not grass - go figure). His favorite is Brazilian pusley, which I can find nothing on as far as toxicity. He also likes the lantana, which is wild around here, but we pull that up if we see it. There could be some we missed, though.

He seems much better this morning. Still not quite himself, but much more alert and active. He gave the normal "I'm the alpha and don't you forget it" speech to the other 2 when they got up this morning. His eyes are brighter and he just looks better. Hoping that improvement continues.

I'll keep you posted.
