I'm not too worried about AC. Not in this area. It takes a lot to get them to respond to anything. I think my doctor would have told me if she had to report it and she didn't say anything about that. Just asked if it was my cat and if it was UTD on rabies vac.

Thanks for the tip on epsom salts. I didn't pick any up today but I'll see if hubby will pick some up for me. The pharmacy had the antibiotic on order so I won't be able to start until tomorrow. She told me the warning signs and said to call if anything seems to be getting worse after a 2 days on antibiotics.

I don't think I was petting him. I remember him coming up on the bed and sitting by me, I did reach out once and petting him on his chest very briefly. Then put my hand down. It was several seconds after that when he bit my finger. He was on the edge of the bed so I also wonder if he felt like he was going to fall off, maybe. Either way I think I'm going to have work harder to nip even his playful nips in the bud. We usually tell him him no when he does it and he stops. This caught me completely by surprise! He's pretty demanding about his "petting time"!

Pretty red, warm, and swollen today. Starting the antibiotics. No bites last night but he sure has been demanding of attention!

He's a sweet boy, really. Love him so much. He's been very sweet to me since. Maybe I'm anthropomorphizing but it really is like he's sorry. He's not going to be happy when we go away for the coming weekend!

Finger is feeling better this morning. Not as red or swollen, and the pain has subsided considerably.

I have had my share over the years and yes they tend to swell and turn red FAST....and throb like the dickens!! I wonder why cat bites are so painful like that?
But yes, the Epsom Salts is a great idea...i ALWAYS have a bag at home for bath soaking...

I have never gone to the doctor for a bit, for the exact reason you are worried about going...I do not trust them here!

I hope it is feeling better today!

Feeling much better. Swelling is almost totally gone, redness is gone, and healing nicely. I have a feeling if I didn't get antibiotics that it wouldn't be so. It was very hot and red and so swollen. So far no visits from AC. :D
