Thanks ladies....I keep looking for the "like" button...LOL ... too much facebooking!!
I will not be able to get them all done with the money I have, but a majority of them will be...I am hoping in the meantime to get another more constant chipin going...but I need to get separate checking and all set up to go with it before I make it live.
I am also going to ask that if/when anyone wants to adopt one that is spayed/neutered that they would donate $50 or so to go into the fund to help take care of another one.
And I figured I spend near to $2000 a year on food for them...and about $700-$800 in medications for simple things like ear mites and URIs and so forth...
If I could get that covered as well with donations...that would be so very awesome!!
Spay/Neuters
Re: Spay/Neuters
I was just down to check on the girls...they are skittish with being in a strange basement and all...both were happy for some snuggling and head rubbing...
that topical dewormer sure makes their fur sticky!!
If they are doing okay and belly's look good tomorrow evening I will probably let them go outside and see how they do...these two are easy to pick up and handle so if things do not go well, and the others bug them because of smells...I will bring them back in for another night...
I do want to make sure no infection sets in and they are healing well...

Re: Spay/Neuters
DO NOT let them outside, at least for 5 days. They cannot jump, get rambunctious with play, get into dirt or debris etc or you WILL be dealing with open incisions and infections.
Do NOT spay any of the females who are currently nursing - wait until kittens are weaned. Same goes for deworming, vaccs, etc - meds given to nursing queens can affect the kittens through nursing.

Re: Spay/Neuters
oh yes....they are safe and doing good....back to their own selves loving up to each other...yesterday after surgery they had to be separated...but lastnight they were snuggling and curled together...
the incision site looks great today on both of them...no redness or swelling and he did a very good job with fine close together stitches...no puckering or unevenness...I am impressed!
and no, no nursing moms will go until they are totally dry...even if the kittens WANT to nurse and she is weaning them, I will check to make sure they are dried up completely...we do not need to bother with swollen milk glands during a spay and recovery!!
