BAD kitties...

Post by Jodi »

I really have to get a digital camera, everyone's pictures are soooo cute! All I can do is share a story that my two "angels" did yesterday...

I made my turkey sandwich for lunch last night and, silly me, forgot to put the pound of turkey back into the fridge. I sealed the ziploc bag up and left it sitting on the kitchen table. I get up this morning, and there is the bag on the floor and two bad kitties looking very pleased with themselves. How they got the bag open, I don't know...it wasn't ripped or anything! I just had to laugh!

Now I have nothing to take for lunch for the rest of the week...but my spoiled babies had a royal feast!!! *sigh*

Jodi, don't want to put a damper on your fun spirit, but be careful with turkey and deli meat. First, turkey can cause diarhhea in cats faster than you can spell it. Second, turkey and some deli meats contain a harmful bacteria known as listeria. It can cause severe gastrointestinal upset.

Hopefully, they didn't ingest too much of it, but keep an eye on them in the next day or so for signs of diarrhea or anorexia, vomiting.....

Thanks Traci....I know the deli meats aren't good for them, so I have been keeping a close watch on them. They aren't showing any signs of diahrea, vomiting, anorexia, etc. I guess I need to be more careful next time...lol

Those cats can smell that stuff from a mile away I think! Bet they thought they had hit paydirt :D

Camera recommendations and a dog story....

First when you get your Camera I suggest a 3 or 4 megapixel unit, unless you get one with the new X3 chip.

Other suggestions:

At least a X3 OPTICAL zoom. ....

Compact Memory or flash card memory over memory stick. Those are cheaper and are interchangeable with more equipment.

Do not get one that writes directly to a disk -- they tend to be slower than those that write to memory. Digital cameras are slow enough. (My old one takes the picture a full second after pressing the shutter. A second can be a LOOOOONNNNG Time when trying to catch a picture.)

Now for the story.

We had a small roast for dinner. We put it on the counter after dinner during clean up. I went to put it in the refrigerator, but it wasn't there. I asked Cheryl where she had put it and she said she didn't put it anywhere. We found Apache, our year old American Foxhound on the Sofa munching away at the roast. How she managed to steal it and get it to the sofa without the rest of the dogs noticing, I will never know. Fortunately we have covers on the sofa so the grease did not get on the upholsery. We ended up cutting up the rest of the roast and destributing it to the other dogs. They had hit the Jackpot that night.

Here is a picture of Apache taken about the time of the incident. THe Small dog in front is Pea Pod one of our little Beagle mixes who was about 3 months old at the time.
