We got to meet a Plott Hound tonight on our walk!

Hello everyone,

I've never seen a Plott Hound before, but Murphy (his name) was one, and looked just like the pic here: http://www.plott-hound-dogs.com/

He was walked by his "grandmother" - the woman was walking her visiting daughter's dog. Mr. Blue and Murphy got along great, and acted a lot alike. Both gave lots of kisses, and they each squealed a bit as we walked away from each other.

Reading that site brought back memories of one of the first dogs I had after leaving home back in the 60's. My biggest dog, Finnegan, was a cross between a Bloodhound and a Saint Bernard - a guy in CO was breeding them to use as bear hunting dogs. I didn't want to hunt bear - she was just a cool beautiful dog to me. Very large, though, and could clear a five foot fence like she stepping over it. Finnegan looked like a Bloodhound but was the size of a Saint Bernard.

...you've got any pics, by any chance? I loved meeting Murphy, and the lady was really nice. She thought Mr. Blue was great, and loved his eyes. We commiserated together about our own boring brown ones I also reassured her that hunting rabbits is a definite hound thing to do in this area!

no pics that I'm aware of. My ex may have some...We had Finnegan protecting us some 40 years ago. When my son was a toddler, he used to ride Finnegan like she was a horse and she was very good with him. Wish I did have photos...she was a beautiful dog.

It's about hound dogs in general, but I think this must have been written by someone who has met Mr. Blue
