Until today it was not too bad. Today I had to put down two good dogs because of lack of space.
Just before closing time, a dog that was neutered by the SPCA and SNIP VAN started to bleed profusely. Then power went out so my calls to various people could not be returned.
Cheryl told me to use some butterfly band aids to try and close the open suture, but they would not hold. I named this nameless pup Trooper because during all our obviously painful manipulation of his wound, he never growled or tried to bite. Instead he rewarded us with licks. Finally got through to everyone on the cell phone and took him to the Emergency Vet Clinic in Metairie, some 30 miles away. I will pick him up tomorrow morning and hopefully deliver him to a Foster home instead of back to the kennel.
Check out our petfinder page for dogs we have for adoption and one fantastic cat!
Now to a good hot shower and some rest!

Thanks, Skeptic, for doing that tough job! I shouldn't have
looked at the Petfinder page, because I think I could fall in love with Creole! I think she'd make a great sister for Mr. Blue. Here's hoping the best for Trooper, and I sure hope all those beautiful dogs in your care end up in great homes (and the cat, too)!

Pay for the gas/motel and I'll drive her up there. That is one good dog!
