Updates on my cats - Lots of pics!

Post by Tina B and crew »

It seems pretty quite here lately and I know I'm horrible about checking in. Life has been pretty hectic this summer. My mom has dealt with some health issues that required hospitalization and then 3 months of rehab. She's still struggling with both the dementia and her swallowing issues. I'm headed back to full time work on Nov 4 so I've been working hard to figure out the best options for her while I'm gone during the day.

The cats are well. Doc is 3 years from the date he was diagnosed with hemangiosarcoma! Can you believe it? He certainly beat all odds. He's still a major butthead but I wouldn't trade him for anything. Chunk and Lucy are doing well. Chunk just had his 6 year birthday and Lucy just had her 5 year adoptaversary. Boy is time flying!!

Here are some recent pics. Nothing with my good camera. I rarely get it out these days. Just not enough time.

A little blurry, but isn't he cute? (He won't hold still!)

This isn't my cat but is a stray that showed up at my daughter's. Before they could get him in to be vetted he got sick. Turns out he had Feline Leukemia. He was not doing well at all and they couldn't take him in since they have 5 other cats, so they gently sent him over the bridge with many tears. His name was Charlie. They had planned on adopting him. =( Not too long after that one of their other cats, Sammie, had a setback with his thyroid treatment (meds weren't working and he took a turn for the worse before they could schedule surgery) and didn't make it. It's been a tough year.

Doc is going to the vet on Monday. Looks like he has uveitis again. I'll of course keep an eye on it today and tomorrow and if it looks like it's getting worse I'll call them.

How has everyone been?

They are pretty happy and healthy...and spoiled rotten!

I just got a new grand kitten yesterday. My grandson is so tickled! I'll have to post some pics later. No name yet...it hasn't came to them.
