Athens is looking for a new brother.

Post by Magnum's Mom »

I spent several hours looking for a male Rottweiler today. Females seem to be in abundance; males in shortage. The male I saw was small and seemed to be listless. The house he was in did not have good AC (Phoenix) and he wanted to lie around on a frozen water bottle and sleep. He let me hold him, but wasn't overly friendly and curious about me as Athena and Magnum were. Both of them left their litter mates and came over to me to check me out. They were rolly polly active little butterballs. He had a minor overbite so he was cheap- $800 with only a 48 hour vet check guarantee. I get nothing if he has hip dysplasia or dies of Parvo. soon. Both parents were OFA good. Neither was a beautiful a Magnum and his relatives (in the Rottwiler books). I heard no homeowners will keep you with a Rottweiler. is this true?

It depends... State Farm in my area only denies insurance if the dog is labeled as aggressive or vicious. Right now they are not accepting any new applicants as they feel they loose too much money here.

For 30 years there were no bad hurricanes in LA, then Andrew and other hurricanes that followed caused some extensive damages. The Insurance companies cried saying they were going bankrupt and were only going to pay 10% of policy value. ---- The insurance Commissioner said NO that they had to pay the full amount! For 30 years they had virtually no claims in LA, so they should have built up sufficient reserves to pay for the damages!
