okay...we are dreaming of at least one of these when our basement gets cleaned out...AGAIN....yes...it happened again Sunday...crews will be here by the end of the week as we are NOT setting foot down there again and the mayor of our town is talking on our behalf with their insurance now...we are tired of it....
but I digress....we are going to install one of these in the basement near the NEW washer and dryer and see what the cats think of it....

If they like it....we will put one in the bathroom upstairs....and then on the main floor and figure out how to work one in on the main floor where we have no bathroom or laundry!

Re: Cat Genie
I hate to say it Tambrey, but I doubt this is ever going to save you money, much less be your "dream" litterbox at this point.
I've read hundreds of reviews on this, and common problems don't make it a worthy investment.
* Parts break easily within weeks or months of first use
* The "Sanisolution" smells horrible, and the manufacturer claims it's safe, although it has "perfume oils" in it. Of course, they don't have to reveal what those "oils" are and you know how I am about that. AVOID them! They also say that ingesting the litter granules poses no health problems, but do you really believe that? And, those perfumes constantly "rinsing", disaster for kitty respiratory problems, especially with repeated and prolonged exposure.
* The rake does not get everything and regarding feces, it is not often released, so when the "drying" process starts, it is essentially drying waste and smelling up your house. Add that smell to the horrid smell of the "Sanisolution", and you'll probably need the haz-mat team out to your house. You will ALWAYS need adequate ventillation wherever this contraption is placed.
* They advertise the product for really, only a couple cats in mind. With as many cats as you have, you'll still be paying more for replacement litter, the solution, and possibly parts that break
* According to many of the reviews, the litter gets tracked around the house much worse than other types of litters. Which is logical because it's tiny granules, easily stuck in paw pads.
* You'll be paying just as much, or more, in costs for replacement filters, solution, granules etc as you would normally pay for monthly litter, especially taking into account the number of uses, the number of "cleanings" you'd need in a day, the number of cats using it.
* Another common problem noted in reviews is clogging pipes.
Please please please, think about this more before you shed out 300.00+
