I was tired of my cats, especially Pinto, throwing scoopable litter out on the carpet in the "guest room" of the apartment, even from large, covered boxes. So I went to PetsMart and got a giant litter box to keep in the bathroom. Overnight it was leaned against a wall of the dining area, bottom side out... both cats sniffed it, especially Pinto, but I thought that was just cat curiosity about a new item in their tame lives... Then today I sat on the living room couch with the bottom of the new box turned toward me, to take off a sticky label with "Goo Gone"... Suddenly I felt thumping and scrabbling... looked around to the front and there was Pinto! It was quite obvious he knew exactly what that big box was for, and although he didn't actually 'go' he stayed there even after I got up, found the camera, and snapped pics! I've seen some smart cats, but this one is the smartest yet. And btw: the new box was used quickly and I think it is going to work as intended (many of my bright ideas don't!)

That is one smart kitty and looks like a great cat box...I like the 2 extra compartments - never saw one like that - guess one is for the scooper?

I've got the exact same box!! Gizmo STILL manages to make a mess though
I like that it is cut lower on one side to make it easier for older cats to enter and exit
Mompaws..yes the two compartments are for storing the scoop and/or any other cleaning implements.
