new kitties part 2
new kitties part 2
we adopted 2 kitties from the shelter a few weeks ago... a 10 week old female tuxedo and a 5 year old male tabby.... you all were GREAT in giving us advice on the lump in the kitties belly (which is going down daily now and the vet is confident was just a pulled internal suture from her being fixed) and in volunteering name ideas for the 2.... we figured we would leave LEO as he was 5 and was accustomed to it, and just name her...... while we were still trying to figure out what name fit her personality, we started to have a LOT of problems with Leo and behavior issues...
unfortunately, we ended up having to take him back... the neurotic compulsive behaviors seemed to increase instead of get better, he began urinating on all of the furniture (including the BRAND NEW bed!, as well as hissing at and attacking my boyfriend and the little kitten whenever either of them got near me.. my boyfriends arm was torn to shreds and the poor little baby lost a patch of hair on her head when he swiped her hard...
... when we took him back to the vet for blood and urinalysis to make sure he wasn't sick or in pain, and he hissed and growled at the vet, but not at the assistant, and everything came back fine, the vet informed us that he felt Leo was best suited as a one and only and preferably in a home with no males.
We called the shelter and they agreed that he should be a one and only and THEN divulged to us that he would get angry and swipe at people if they STOPPED petting him at the shelter... and would attack other cats at random if they were getting attention by the people he seemed to gravitate to, but they thought he would adjust and didn't think that they should give us the heads up.... they told us to bring him back and they would help us find another kitty to complete our family...
While we both felt like horrible parents in having to take him back, we feel that it is in the best interest of all involved in the long run. it will save our furniture and arms and legs as well as the poor baby... but I think it will also save HIM in the long run to find a home where he will be loved and attended to as a single kitty...
we DID end up taking another kitten home with us, and he is a beautiful little siamese mix... so now the task is back to naming the 2 kitties....
any help???

For some reason, I love Bonnie and Clyde for them. The new guy is precious!
Re: new kitties part 2
my boyfriend asked if we could name them Clarence and Alabama... LOL somehow I don't see these 2 as being the "True Romance" characters in the least...
and yes... he IS precious.... and has decided that our bamboo is his....

love the pix. Be aware that siamese kitties ARE VERY vocal and can drive you up the wall at times. Like Ummmm Kids....Ehem I should know ROFL!
Love the colors of both.
What about Sampson and Delilah or Lucy and Ricky(LOL)
or Sylvia and Mickey(c'mon ya'll know what that is from )
Or how about Sam and Sonja ?(that one is just out of the blue) LOL
Ok either way you have to use the names in a sentance to make sure it fits....Like for instance... (you have to yell it ok).... This is always the fun part
Ready..Here we go..
Sampson get off the couch!
Sonja stop It!
Mamabear stop this before I say a cuss word!!!!! LOL
Mickey O My God NOT THE bed again!!!!!!!!!!!
Sylvia Dont scratch boyfriend for the 10th time NOOOOOOOO dang it stop sylvia!!!!!!!
Dont forget the good ones too....Like Oh Mickey c'mere or Lucy's such a good girl.

LOL they fit... and yeah we know siamese are vocal... we were worried cause he didn't make ANY noise at all yesterday... he started purring against me last night and early morning (about 4) he started mewing, and calling us.... LOL he's a talker for sure.. and she chirrups back

I vote RED AND KITTY what an awesome pair of names. I love those two! Good that he was vocal.(phewwww)
Dont forget to get them use to nail clipping it will save you money doing it yourself. Have vet show you have to do it and buy a pair of clippers. I have a pair now 18 years and i sharpen them. They work great.

Re: new kitties part 2
we used to cut our old cats nails and they loved to have a game with a nail file.... drag it across the floor and they would "chase it" and in turn file the ends down nicely ... and I've already done the tuxedos last week.... she laid on her back in my arms and let me cut them with no worries.... tonight it's his turn.... his are pretty sharp I must say, but he lets me rub his paws and press his nails out so I don't forsee too much of an issue.....
We are trying out Red and Kitty..... and on the back burner are Perry and Jordan (Scrubs) but I think I prefer Red and Kitty in the long run....
they are chasing each other all over the place and rough and tumble one minute and sacked out purring in a ball the next... SO nice to see a different aspect with these 2

How wonderful.. I love scrubs too!
Good luck with this. I'll be lurking but not typing for the weekend. Trying to rest my arm for now. Have a great weekend.

Red and Kitty as well as SCRUBS have been ruled out in naming the kitties.... they just didn't seem to fit any of those pairings...
but they DO have names now...
My 18 year old nephew took one look at them and decided that they should be Frye and Leela (Futurama characters) because she IS in charge and he adores and follows her everywhere... LOL
it fit and they answer to the names too!
