THis one is about a week old, but it was after a rain and the light and wetness make the greens of the vegetation really come out. Ivory makes a good contrast in this picture
Compare that to yesterday which was overcast and dryer. Ivory looks yucky in this picture.
Coco doesn't get out as often as the others, but really enjoys it when she does.
Dottie loves her spot on the sofa more than going outside.
Those dang squirrels keep aggravating the pups. Ginger is especially perterbed.
They are really focused on the squirrels, but Ebony here is calm and reasonable.
Bernie is dashing along the fence while a squirrel races above on the powerline, aka Squirrel Interstate. I wonder how he knows when the squirrel stops.
I took a real snapshot here and actually got a blurry image of a squirrel in the center of the picture. From this you can assume I was not prepared to get a picture of a squirrel.
We never had this many squirrels before Katrina.

Nice pics, as always! I suspect the increase in squirrels is directly related to the number of trees felled by the storm. We lost a bunch from Charlie and Jeanne combined, and they were babies compared to Katrina. We had to take out about a dozen small oaks in the front yard that were leaning at about a 45 degree angle. Our big live oak in the backyard made it through with just a few limbs lost. After Charley and Jeanne, it was completely stripped of leaves, but it came back quickly, and our resident dare-devil squirrel is still there (it's a BIG guy - especially for Florida). It will be a long time before the NOLA area has as may big trees as it did before Katina.

Yes - I loved my trees so much and they're all gone. Half my live oak split off and fell on the rear patio cover. Our other large water oak which we called the Boundry Oak and had fouhgt with a psychotic neighbor to save for years (even going to court when sued by her) fell on my son's house.... But they say the lizards are back and some raccoons. The lizards and raccoons are said to be very large - no one seems to know why... There are many rats, and the squirrels I'm sure are there too - in New Orleans they're often called "tree rats" and are generally despised - they get into roof spaces and do so much damage... they may not even miss the trees, come to think of itIt will be a long time before the NOLA area has as many big trees as it did before Katrina.
