Mr. Blue did something new and pretty neat today...msg

Post by Mary Plummer »

Hello everyone, and Happy Friday!

Mr. Blue did something pretty neat this evening, that we've never seen before. Him and my hubby and I were out on our deck this evening, and hubby and Mr. Blue went around the side of our house, checking everything out. There's a gate back there, leading to a walkway up one side of our house. I heard my husband talking, but figured he was talking to Mr. Blue or our neighbor. Then I heard him say something louder, but I couldn't understand it from the deck. All of a sudden, Mr. Blue came running up on the deck, came right up to me and nudged me, and then took off back toward our gate. I got up and followed, and as it turns out there was a big fat rabbit right on the other side of the gate. As it turns out, my hubby was calling me to come take a look, but I couldn't hear him. He didn't tell Mr. Blue to come get me; our pup just thought this would be good. Hubby and I were both pretty impressed that he would tear himself away from guarding against one of those evil bunnies to come get me! He never got a chance at the bunny, as my hubby explained to him that we couldn't open the gate and let him go out, because we didn't want him to run into the street. But he sure was happy, and we were both really impressed that he wanted me to see him and his Daddy hunting together :D

I mean, we knew Mr. Blue is intelligent and people-oriented, but for a hunting dog to be able to leave off watching a natural prey while he goes to find his other human is really amazing!

Maybe this is why that Sprint commercial where the dog is at the wheel of the car always makes me think of Mr. Blue... :)
