Went on an animal 911 tonight with Cheryl. ...
We picked up a stray feral Momma cat and her 4 two week old kittens that some kindly people had captured. Putting the kittens in our Kennel Cab was no problem, then it came Momma's turn. She tried to Squeeze between the trap and the kennel cab, but I grabbed her by the back of her neck. I picked her up by the nape of her neck figuring she could not get to me. WRONG! She managed to twist around and dig her claws into my arm. Fortunately she did not RAKE them and could not twist her head around to bite me. I shoved her into the Kennel cab and quickly yanked my arm out as I released her.
She settled back into the kennel cab for the trip to the shelter. At the shelter we got her and her kittens into a cage with no problems. Going home I noticed that I had 16 pinholes in my arm seeping blood. Hopefully she will calm down and will tame some. The ease of transfer at the shelter gives me hope.
