We are so glad we see others with the same 'problems' we have. Apache is our big 'Sneak Tongue.' When you are eating Apache will jump up like she wants some loving, then quickly bend down and lick your plate. We are on to her tactics now and she doesn't get away with it. When she tries that we hug her head against us and so she can't sneak a lick.

I would never have suspected a Bassett would do that - they are a determined breed, aren't they! Very cute picture!
Foxy is the only one able to reach the counter here, and she tried counter surfing a couple of times soon after we got here (that and garbage diving). She quickly learned that we would not accept that type of behavior, and, fortunately, she stopped. I don't know if she could resist Turkey Day leftovers though!

Oh yes, they have a mind of their own! That nose gets them into trouble easily...I learned quickly that food doesn't get left on the counter!

when I was growing up, we had a beautiful irish Setter named Crackers...he was given to us from a guy my ad worked with...they got him as a pup with full intent of purchasing a home, and that fell through...he was too active for a townhouse yard...
Anyways...if there was any food on the table or counters, he was just tall enough to walk by, turn his head slightly, stick out his tongue and take a swipe, without ever missing a footstep...unless you were watching him specifically, you would never know he did it...until you saw the tongue lick in the food item!!

Isn't it funny how when a pet does something wrong instead of saying no to them the first thing we do is take a picture?
