What werid habits do your dogs have?

Post by TheSkeptic »

What are some weird things your dogs do?

Here are a Few Quirks of mine.

Sweet Pea when she wakes up will do "calisthenics' before going outside. She lays flat on her belly with her rear legs spread and pushes herself backwards in a large circle with her front legs. As soon as I try to get a picture of this and point the camera at her, she jumps up and runs to the door. When she comes back inside she will invariably go straight to the water bowl and stand in it.

Dottie, when she has to go outside does not go to the back door like the other dogs. She stays where she is and starts whining. Only when I open the back door does she stop whining, get up and go outside.

When Cheryl is home, Inky will not go outside for me, unless Cheryl is asleep.

If you are laying down, Ebony will jump on the Bed, lay on our chest the ROLL up to our head. (We call it steamrolling because it feels like we are being run over by a steam roller.

If he is outside with Ginger when she goes to the bathroom, Mr. Dawg will race over and *beep* his leg on her. Fortunately his aim is bad and he never hits his target.

These are just a few of mine. What do yours do?

Standing in the water bowl is so weird....but my sister had a border collie and an Australian Shepherd that did the same thing. My Dobermans never liked to have their feet wet at all.
Just one of Crystal's strange habits is that she will try to sit on a chair like a human. She also sits like that in the car.

Lol! Sceptic, you have a real funny lot there!

My Lassie loves to take a piece of bread and put it on his mat in his corner. There he will guard it the whole day, and growl at whoever dares to comes close. In the night, after our last walk, he will rush and bring it into the lving room. By that time it's hard like a rock. He will play with it for a while and then munch a little on it, leaving bits and pieces and crumbs all over the place. This makes him very happy.

He also sneezes several times before he poops, which he does standing on three legs. One of his hind legs had been broken once and is a little crooked now. So he lifts it up while having his toilet.

Shida doesn't like to have her collar and leash put on IN the house. She will make a big fuss, shake her head, jump around etc. Once outside though I can put it around her neck no problem. :?

Our Taz and Mysti are brother and sister, lab/collie mixes...They have a run off of the back porch, and there is a dog door in the back door for them to get from the porch into their run...they do not like to be inside....but especially at night when we are all trying to sleep, Taz will go outside to do his business or whatever, and Mysti will get up and move over to guard the doggie door from the inside, preventing Taz from coming back inside...so he stands outside the door snad whines and cries until one of us gets up, goes downstairs and makes Mysti move so Taz can come back inside...

At night, when Taz is sleeping, he also likes to "guard" the doggie door...he will sleep on the inside, on the porch, but have his head resting on the door, sticking out from under the flap...

Mysti also will take BOTH food dishes and shove them around until they are under a cabinet out there...or she will take their straw bedding adn nose it until the dishes are covered...and only when she is ready to eat will she unbury the food dishes and then Taz can also eat...if he tries to go eat, she will growl at him...I get so mad at her for that...
