Well, we got these two really neat wingback chairs for $60 for the pair...great deal...but one of them had torn fabric on the bottom, and the cats discovered it...Tiglet was the first one to find the tear and climb into the chair...and when another walked near, her paw would swat out at them...hahaha...I could never get a good picture of that, but I did get a coupe of Majik taking a break in there...




The fabric has since torn from them playing around in there, and we need to get some new and fix it right...

How funny that they crawled in there. It must be comforting to them to be stuffed in there like a baby kangaroo.
Or, sort of like my brother-in-law who gets into his backyard hammock around Memorial Day and doesn't want to give it up until Labor Day.

yes, they seem to like the dark hiding places...the better to swat out at someone when they walk by!!!!

Just keep those chairs in mind next time you spray for fleas - perfect place for them to sit and wait ...

Dontcha just love that fabric under chairs and beds that rip at the slightest loose thread? (or one cat claw)

You should see the edges of my bedsheets! Custom here is to have your mattress on the floor and Tommy loves to slide along the sides, lying on his side, pulling himself forward with his front paws while attacking the mattress plus sheet with his back paws. They are in shreds faster than I can say "That looks so hilarious!" Does he think my bed is a huge mouse I wonder?

Thanks...he is a very pretty cat...sleek and shiny...with a white patch on his throat and another on his belly...and he has those intense golden coloured eyes...his sister, Sissy, is a shiny long haired black cat with a hint of reddish in her fur, and again, a whit spot on her belly, but she has big green eyes!

Majik was our totally WILD feral...when David finally was able to catch him to bring him in, he could only get him by the tail poor thing hissed and spit all the way into the house and was hissy spitty for weeks afterwards...but of course, he is the one who rolls over now when David walks by so he can get a belly rub from him...he is our only cat who LIKES belly rubs for extended periods of time!

Very cute! Why indeed do they seek out such spots... maybe because these places resemble a natural den? My experience has been that even if a tear doesn't exist, a cat will make one in such an item of furniture. I don't know how many box springs I've had damaged over the years - the most recent was a brand new Serta queen size that I caught Q trying to invade. Shortly afterward I moved back to the two story side of my house, and the box spring could not be brought up the oddly designed staircase - so the mattress now rests on slats in a Scandinavia bedframe. Works great - but ol' Q Babe still prowls under there sometimes hee hee... probably checking to see if the situaion has changed! BTW - Q is also a golden-eyed black cat with one small white spot on his neck (no belly spot) and he was one of a semi-feral litter. He came indoors at about 4 months of age in 1994 and since then has no desire to go outside (but when Winnie and I go out, he will stand in the door and yowl until we come back in )

oh Ash...I can just imagine...hahaha....we raised a cat last year, who has since gone to a wonderful family, and he liked to pull himself along the underside of the couches...and she said his sister likes to pull herself along the hem of my friend's long skirts she likes to wear...hahaha...

E's...I have to agree that they do tend to tear through alot fo furnishings...I have learned to keep towels and throws and stuff on that are easy to wash and replace, and I can take them off when company comes over...hahaha...Majik and Sissy have no desire to go back outside either...they know they have it made inside...and there are LOTS of windows to sit in and enjoy the view from a safe distance!
