Could be lots of reasons, Tambrey..weather hazards, momma kitty not able to produce enough milk, stray animals in your area, ...in any event, momma kitty may be ill, and may have passed on a viral to the kittens, so if at all possible, try to trap her to at least get her tested, an exam, etc. I know finances are tough, but you truly do not want to have to experience this again, and as long as she is intact, she could be pregnant again as we speak.
