Dogs and plumbers ...

Post by k9Karen »

Well, it's been a long day. On Sunday we discovered a wet spot in the middle of what used to be our daughter's bedroom. Thought it was due to a "bad dog", but didn't know which one. On Monday the wet spot was about the size of Florida - figured out no dog could do that! Called in the plumber. Plumber pulled back the carpet and drilled 50 bazillion holes in the foundation - no water - AKA, no leak. Sound of water running in the bathroom - no faucet turned on and no water in the bathroom. OK - what now? After three hours of hunting discovered the idiots who poured our foundation didn't cover the pipe for the outside spigot - lime in the concrete ate away at the copper and bingo, 12 years later, big time leak in the outside wall! So, $400 later, a huge hole in the outside of the south wall of the house, and a torn up bedroom, we have no more leak.

What does this have to do with dogs? All three enjoyed the attention of the plumbers for 4 hours. They absolutely fell in love with Angel. From the way I figure it, we paid about $100 for the plumbers to entertain and love on our dogs!

Can't wait to see the water bill :? !

kind of an expensive way to entertain the pups but glad you got things fixed. Sometimes you can (one can) get an adjustment on a big water bill depending on circumstances - might be worth a try.

and didn't have to blame it on the dogs!

Your last paragraph reminds me that we pay the exterminator $30 a month to keep the cockroaches at bay....$20 to give bellyrubs to Biscotti when she rolls over and $10 to keep a couple roaches around so Biscotti has a new toy! I give up!

...times, and brought along some dog biscuits for Mr. Blue the last time she showed up. She told me that, whenever a call needs to be made to our house, she volunteers because she likes the house residents (meaning Mr. Blue and Carmel :D
