Well, Gremlin and Yoda went for their final check with thier vet today, and will soon be going to their new home and vet...
Since I had held off before on doing anything, they were taken one at a time and weighed (Yoda is 3.2 pounds and Gremlin is 2.0 pounds) and had blood drawn for feline leukemia testing. While awaiting results, he listened to them and checked eyes, ears, mouth etc....Gremlin has a yucky eye, which just happened today lont long after her and Yoda were roughing around, and he could not see anything visible to worry about, but said to keep an eye on it for the next couple of days...
Then he just put them on the floor to play until the results came back...he was amazed at how well they are doing, especially Gremlin, and he explained to the intern working with him what all she had been through, and that is why she is alot smaller than her brother.
The tests were negative for leukemia, so he went ahead and gave them their 1st/2nd FVRCP-Chlamydia, 1st Feline Leukemia and Drontal for lingering worms.
He filled out a history and vaccine record for their new vet, and gave me an enire packet of info and brochures and coupons and food sample (Eukanuba, the kind they are on already) and stuff for their new mom...and a sheet listing what vaccines they needed next and when so she can make an appointment with their new vet. However, he did suggest she get them in next week just to visit and get established in the event an emergency comes up, she has a vet to go to as a patient rather than non-patient.
It is going to seem weird to not come here to post updates on them, but I gave their new mom this URL for the message boards, so maybe she will keep us updated
