Gracie's intro!

Hi! I'm Gracie's mommy. I posted here a while back with a few questions about Gracie and I figured it'd be nice to show you what she looks like! You may remember my post about how she has an obsession with a sock and likes to suck and knead on it as if it was her mother... As an update.. Gracie still sucks on the sock but we found that we can lightly rinse it off to remove any dirt and what not, and also its a great way to get her calmed down in the middle of the night when she decides that its time for crazy hopping and pouncing all over every bed in the house! She loves being petted while she is doing this, too... it doesnt seem like a negative behavior so why not let her do it? If anyone thinks otherwise please tell me!

Of course she grew a lot since then. These pictures were taken in May. She was born on March 28th.

Shes so much fun and very affectionate. I had to beg my parents to let me take her from a neighbor of ours who's cat had kittens. Now they can't get enough of her and actually steal her from my room when I'm sleeping! (Of course I dont keep her locked up with me though) Its so neat to see her mother and her sister (who still live at their original house). I found out that her sister recently went up to the mother and attempted to nurse her mother (strange.. could have a connection to Gracie's sock obsession).

One of my cats.Nigella, also does that weird sucky-kneady thing! What is it all about? She does it to me when she sits on my knee-leaving big wet patches on my T-shirt!
I love her but to be honest it freaks me out a bit! Do other people's cats do this as well?

Its absolutely adoreable.. not only does she suck and knead.. she tilts her head side to side while shes doing it and then looks up at you every once in a while....

I really do think she thinks the sock is her mother... I feel so bad beacuse nothing comes out of the sock LOL! yeah, the sock is always soaked... and then she walks around it so it attracts all kinds of dirt and grime.. so i always rinse it off any chance i can actually grab it from her. it doesnt seem to take away whatever scent it is. And she only does it to that one specific sock.. no others.. I tried to give her others... haha.

I asked the vet about the sucking... and she said that it has to stop and that we should take the sock away from her because it is a bad habit and is bad for their teeth.
She said that once they suck on something they learn that its ok to suck on everyhting else and can actually ruin things.
But I don't understand because Gracie doesnt even suck on other socks, only that one...and I've never seen her even LICK anything other than her food and water and herself..
I dont know!
