Pictures of Gremlin & Yoda

Post by Tambrey »

Here are a couple of pics taken of the two kittens I have been raising since they were 9 days old...they are now 10 weeks old...Gremlin is my midget and has given me many scares...she still is not free and clear yet, and it is daily prayers and care to ensure she makes it...

Gremlin and her brother, Yoda...notice the size difference! And ignore the extension cord...I could not find batteries for the camera, and could not even find a regular household extension cord to plug in the camera to take the pictures...they never play with anything dangerous!!

and here she is climbing my leg, with Yoda wanting to pull her back down to play!

hahaha.....HONEST!!...those items are usually NOT on the floor...I put the coke can down to show how tiny Gremlin is...you can compare her to the size of the can and get a better idea of her size that way!!

And I already explained the cord! no batteries to be found...I could not find a regular extension cord to plug into the camera, so I resorted to going to the garage and getting that one...

As soon as I was done with the pics, I removed all those things...and by the way....you can also see plastic cat jacks, and they also have fabric mice, and a miniaure tennis ball...and I let them play with a ribbon when I am in there to supervise...I drape it over the stuffed animal they have with one on either side of the animal, and they take turns tugging the ribbon...

I took Gremlin with me to the vet yesterday to get more A/D food and I think that was the best thing for her!!

She became more alert as we were driving (I had her in a box on the front seat with me)...when we stopped for road construction and were delayed 15 minutes, I held her up to sniff all the smells of the field we were by...we got to the vets and she wanted to run all over the waiting room floor, so she did because no other critters were in there...they all could not believe how well she is compared to when she was last in there...

Then we went to Petco to get some various canned kitten food to strat taking them off the A/D...I put her towel in the cart, and her on the towel, and people were coming from all over to see the tiny kitten...she soaked up all the attention and when someone would stop petting her, she would reach up and grab their finger to pull their hand back down...

On the way home, she was very vocal, so I put my hand in the box and she played the entire way home...again, when we stopped for construction, I took her from the box and held her...she purrrrred and purrrrrred...something she was not doing much of before...then she finally settled down to sleep for a bit...when we got home, I peeked in and she opened an eye, saw it was me, and immediately rolled over for a belly rub...LOL...

That evening, she rough and tumbled with her brother...ate well..and was chasing all of the toys, rather than justthe ribbon like she had been...

***I did NOT take Yoda with us to the vet because he was just too rambunctious and I was driving alone...no way could I have handled him too...and I did not want to put him in the same box to travel with Gremlin because he can climb out of it!!...I am going to borrow my mother's carrier next week when we go for another checkup and hopefully first round of shots...Yoda is ready for sure, but not positive about Gremlin getting them yet...I want to make sure she is totally strong!!

You know..yesterday at Petco, one of the girls said she just had to put a cat to rest because she had a brain tumor...but she was 15 years old and the most she EVER weighed was 5 pounds...she was probably a surviving "runt" as well...this gives me hope still for Gremlin :)
