is some behavior genetic?

Okay I have a dumb question for you all. I have a little kitten here, probably about 2 months old. Her mother was run over when she was 2 days old so she hardly knew her. The mother was a licker--she loved to lick my feet especially. None of my other cats are like that -- until this kitten came along. She likes to lick, too. I was wondering if this is because she is her mother's daughter? Or is it just a coincidence? In a way I think it's sweet because it reminds me of her mother. I look forward to your comments

It's more of an instinct than inheritable trait. Most kittens (and some adults) love to lick their human's skin, because it is salty, or because you've used a certain lotion/scent that appeals to them. It can also be a comforting issue, as in she is showing you her appreciation/affection for you.

Thanks Traci, I like the idea that she is showing affection to me. She can be very bratty, she likes to bite a lot, but she can also be very sweet. She is just so little and innocent I love it when she snuggles beside me and wants to lick my hand. Sometimes she gets up on my shoulders and licks my neck. And she just purrs all the time. Kitties are so wonderful
