Oh Skeptic, Ruddy's story and picture are just tearing at my heart! How is he with people and other dogs? He looks like he is a real sweetheart!

Well he is still a puppy. The lady who called us told us he has been sitting by the side of the road for three days. Just looking down the highway. (Highway 51 between Manchac and LaPlace, near Rudock -- hence the name Ruddy)

He was friendly with me and Cheryl and did not freak out when I carried him into the kennel. On the way from where we picked him up to the shelter he curled up in my lab, sighed and went to sleep.

Is there any update on Ruddy yet?

Well he is quite happy at the shelter. He is gaining weight and is being de-wormed. His wounds are healing nicely and he is as friendly as can be, but the manager wants to put him down because he is all chewed up and no one will want him! She says he is unadoptable and taking up valuable kennel space. We vigorously deny that allegation. She is giving him until next Friday to be adopted. ...

That's so sad, i hope the little guy finds a home....

I hope he can get into foster care if it comes down to that. It would be so horrible for him to have endured so much then to end up dead anyway. I would foster him myself if I was not so far away, poor thing.
