Hello, my cat jenny sleeps in the day and comes out at night.
In the day she isn't bothered about us [unless she is hungry] and at night she craves attention!
We brought her cat toys and she is 'scared' of them!

My cat Whistle is not what anyone would consider a lap kitty. We can't give her any TLC unless she feels like it, and when she gets tired of it she doesn't give you any warning, so you always had to watch out for when she turned into 
Little Miss Evil , as we used to call her. We tried getting her to be more loving by trying to play with her, give her extra attention, etc, etc, but nothing worked. It's been three years and she's still the same. I guess some cats, like some people, can't be changed, but we love her all the more for it, and we wouldn't trade her for any lap cat.

i would begin with more attention the way your kitty wants it first to develop more of a social bond and during the times you are awake. if its rubs, do rubs...if its simply laying near her, then lay near her for a while.
eventually, just try different objects...may want to try some packing twine.

have you tried talking to her? ...if that doesn't work, a feather and some string might...
