If he's hanging out in the park and scaring people, I still think it might be a good idea to give the police a call. He may be perfectly harmless (just got fired or laid off or had a death in the family or somethink like that and is just really bummed out) or he could be on drugs or just plain 'nuts' and therefore totally unpredictable. Better safe than sorry.

I'm glad to hear that he's getting help - it's a hard thing to do, and an even harder thing to admit you need it. That was nice of him to apologize. That said, however, I tend to be a bit skeptical, so, if I were you, I'd still be careful around him. Con artists and criminals have ways of winning your trust before they try to harm you. Timmy has already been his victim - you don't need to be his next one. I really hope that he's just a "lost soul" who's getting the help he needs - but again - better safe than sorry!

I was bitten by a dog when I was 9 yeard old. I wasn't harrassing the dog, I wasn't even paying any attention to him. He was also my bestfriend's dog, so I'd seen him hundreds of times! Just out of the blue he bit me... I forgave him... 8 stitches and 2 shots later, but the point is, I'm scared of dogs now, all kinds of dogs, BUT I respect them, and would NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER hurt one, you just don't do it... it's like an unspoken rule or something. If you remember what the nutcase looks like, post up his description, where you where and what time. Also call your local spca or humane society and let them know incase more calls come in. I home your Timmy is alright. Dogs are smart... I'm sure he knows that most 2 legged dogs (us humans) are alright!
