I was taking Vioxx for a while and had to stop when it was messing with my stomach. We tried Winnie on Derramax and Biscotti on Rimadyl for a month each, but I decided not to contiue it based on my experience. Now I might give them one on a particularly bad day, such as when Bisc played too hard with my daughter's puppy and turned into a grouchy old lady. That seems to be good enough, although Bufferin probably would work, too.

My Vet did warn me of the dangers and would have insisted on regular blook work, though.

Regarding ProHeart 6....never used it as I knew of the dangers being reported. I was surprised to learn the office used it, as it had never been mentioned to me. So I said something about a lot of dogs getting AIHA from it, and she said that didn't make any sense...it was not even 2 weeks later that it was pulled!
