Mikey is gone

At his recheck today, Mikey was blind in his left eye, wasn't blinking normally, and his pupil didn't respond properly to light. Based on the brain lesion or tumor, his back pain, and his poor quality of life, we put him to sleep today. He fought for the last 4 years of his short life...

Thanks everyone for their support, suggestions, thoughts, and prayers over his illness.

JMM,

Words cannot express my sorrow, my heart absolutely aches for you.

I know that you went above and beyond for Mikey, and your dedication to helping him was extraordinary, I so wish more could have been done to help him.

My thoughts and prayers are with you, please know you are not alone, you shared so much of Mikey's life with me and others here, and I am thankful for having known him through you...I wish I had the perfect words to comfort you...........(((HUGS)))

I just saw his picture on the furkids board. He was a lovely dog. I am so sorry for your loss, but you did so much more than most would have even considered to help him and I know he knew how much you cared. My deepest sympathies.

I am sorry for your loss...Mickye was well loved and cherished by his family...

JMM, I'm so sorry to hear that Mikey lost his battle. I also feel like I knew him through your posts and sharing the ups and downs of his disease. I send you hugs and prayers for the loss of your beautiful friend. He will be missed by all of us.

I am so sorry. Please know you did the best you could. Loss is hard to bear but in time there is closure and peace.
