think my dog has Post Traumatic Distress Syndrone::

Post by davet »

since i got my car back after being rammed in the rear with her in it she is hesitant to get into it...she loves to go for rides but only in my wife's car...she will get into mine with some coaxing but only in the side door, not in the tail gate..when i call her to get in the old ears go back and head down snd she circles or trys to avoid..finally will get in but only the side door...guess i'll just have to give her time or get a shrink....once in she is fine.....i am sure she will get over it but gonna take time...

Oh man, I sure hope you can get her over it! I came to the conclusion it was sometning like a car accident that bent Copper so out of shape for so long! He held it against more than just cars though, it traumatized him to be scared most any noise.

do happy things

You have to make the car a happy place again. Climb in the back and make happy squeaky noises and hand out quality treats like hotdogs and cheese. After a few minutes of this either Sassy will be back in the car and forget what happened or the neighbors will call the people in white coats.
