seizure meds

Post by lmd »

A friend is concerned with the costs of pheno barb or potassium iodide. The vet suggested waiting to see if the dog had another seizure soon before going on with treatments. It is an eight month old border collie spayed female. Are these meds generally prohibitive in expense?

not sure about potasium bromide but pheno is very inexpensive as meds go.. we were paying $31.99 for 500 tabs, that's about 6¢ apiece. This was from Sav-On drugstore, I suspect pheno could be even less expensive if one shopped around.
