Re: articles of interest
re: last article....I'll bet for the price of the implant, one could spay/neuter their dog for the same price, plus add margin of safety, preventive diseases of intact dogs.

did my reply go by the wayside???????
RE: First Article:
When we first moved to Iowa from Virginia, my border collie loved to run on the hills behind my grandparent's house...however, if there was snow, we would still go run and play, and just like a little kid, Queenie did not know when to give up and go inside...
The first few times, I had to carry her back because the snow would pack in between her pads and her feet would hurt her...I learned really fast to tell BEFORE she had enough to get her to go back inside...

RE: Third article: When I was younger, and before I knew better, I did not bother bo have my shepherd/lab neutered. He was about 8 years old, and during a thunderstorm, managed to chew through the boards in their house and ram his head through the boards...tearing the skin on both sides of his face in the process of removing his head (I was not home at the time or he would have been inside during the storm!) I took him to the vet, who asked if he was always so thin. I said he usually lost weight in summer as he ran more and did not eat as much. But he was concerned and asked if he had ever been mated. I said no and asked why. He said intact males have a tendency to develop prostate problems if not allowed to relieve themselves. I asked what to do...he said I had three choices...let him mate , relieve him myself or get him neutered....of course, I opted for the third...and since we had two other male dogs by then, I asked if he gave a discount for mass neutering!! (He did!) [/quote]

I hope that the author of the cat who was given aspirin (Aleve) has read this article!I have seen big dogs die from gastrointestinal bleeding after being given just one or two naprosyn (found in Aleve) tablets."
