Hello everyone,
Sorry I haven't been on much lately! I'm having a pretty horrendous time with my boss at work , and when I get home I end up doing lots of cuddling with my hubby, Mr. Blue and Carmel. Anyway, I noticed this morning that the fur on one of Mr. Blue's back paws is very discolored, brownish instead of white. So I looked closely this morning, and again tonight at it, and there's no cut. It almost looks to me like it's from the bed of one of his toenails, but I'm not sure. I washed it tonight with some Nolvalsan, and I will definitely take him in if it doesn't improve, but I was wondering what this could be.
I'm tempted to go to the vets Saturday morning anyway, because we're taking him on a kind of long trip next week. My brother, who lives in Virginia right outside of Washington DC, is getting married on the 4th! Our good friends, with whom we exchange dog-watching priveleges, are out of town that weekend too, and so my brother said we could bring Mr. Blue along. I'm glad that we can! I was just thinking I could ask our vet to help us trim his nails; he really hates that, and they do it quicker and better than I can.

the brown is probably from licking...what the cause for the licking is would be a guess..keep using the nolvasan. but check thenails closely to see that there is no break..usuallwith the nails they chew rather than lick...give it a couple days...

Thanks Davet! It looked a whole lot better this morning, but then was discolored again this evening. I washed it with the Novalsan again tonight, and am thinking a trip to the vet on Saturday just to be on the safe side before our trip. I suspect it's his allergies causing the problem, but I could be wrong (who, me?
