unusual question about my dog!

Well my cat has been going number 2 outside of his litter box lately (i asked for help in the cat health help forum). A lot of times we don't notice it until we smell it and usually my dog gets it before we notice. He's actually been eating my cats waste!! this is very digusting, but besides it being disgusting can it harm him in any way? (we're keeping a close eye on both pets now!)....I appreciate the help!

See reply in Feline Health....as for the dog, put the litterbox in an area inaccessible to the dog...problem solved.
