The bloodwork showed that it was Shelby's liver, not her kidneys. She did have a slightly elevated WBC on the urinalysis which they originally told me was neg.
He prescribed a liver antioxidant and I'll continue on the Baytril for 30 days. They will repeat the urinalysis and bloodwork after that time to see if the values return to normal. If not, he'll do a liver x-ray.
The vet didn't act like this was the end for her. She had hepatitis about a year and 1/2 ago and she bounced back from the brink of death, so hopefully she can bounce back again. She was much more gravely ill the last time. She's such a wonderful dog, I hate to lose her...she'll be 13 in August if she makes it through this.
