Oliver's test results
I posted below regarding long-term use of Flagyl, and now I'm seeking more information since we now have more tests completed. The GI specialist decided to do both a colonoscopy and endoscopy today. The doctor says that he has a "thickened and granular" duodenum" which she biopsied. She said the most common cause is infiltrative, likely lymphocytes or plasmacytes. Then, she said there was a large volume of blood in his colon, and she biopsied there also. I asked if the duodenum was bleeding into the colon, but she said that there was no blood in the duodenum. In the colon, she found no tumors or polyps. So she believes that he has problems throughout his digestive system. The biopsies will reveal the type of infiltrators and she said that it is "likely benign" but could be lymphoma. I asked if lymphoma is treatable and she said there is chemotherapy. So that's all I know until we pick him up at 3, then I'll ask more questions. Does anyone have any to suggest? What about the duodenum issues, anyone else had experience in this area? Treatments? Food? Please keep him in your prayers, it looks like our boy has more to go through.
