I don't have any knowledge on the values and numbers, but you guys have sure been in my thoughts! Is she missing Mickey at all, do you think? They say animals do know, and it affects them, but I don't know how.

Thanks for asking. It's like night and day. She is SO-O-O-O much better. The treatment the vet prescribed must have been right on the money! Her appetite is back and there is a bounce in her step. Her stools are still a little loose, but nothing like before. She's on a bland diet and eating well.
I asked the vet what might have caused it, and he says it is unlikely to be a virus. It's possible she got into some squirrel or cat feces or ate something rotten in the yard. She also might have eaten a toadstool. The vet also said it could be related to the stress of lossing Mickey - he said they see it all the time. I don't guess we'll ever know for sure, but she had been whining ever since Friday, so missing Mickey might have been it. I'm just hoping it isn't something contagious. I don't want Allie to get it, and my daughter was here with her dog through Saturday.
I'll tell you what - pet ownership sure doesn't come cheap. Including Mickey's private cremation, I spent almost $600 in 5 days. I sure hope they stay healthy for awhile, but they both need their teeth cleaned pretty soon.

I'm so glad she's feeling better! It's amazing the things dogs find to be tasty, unfortunately I tell Mr. Blue every now and then that it's time he goes to work too; I'm thinking he could go to work clearing rabbits out of yards or something. Oh wait...that wouldn't be work for him, it would be sheer pleasure!
