Hey there whomever you are who isn't Kevin!

Hopefully, your vet has said that Buddy's issue is temporary and that all other potential causes have been ruled out - most of the time the vet can tell by exam, observation of how he's moving, head tilt, darting eyes, nausea/vomiting or dehydration, unsteady on feet, front paw is able to move back into position after vet has turned it a certain way, etc. If Buddy has nausea or vomiting, ask your vet for an anti-nausea medication. Sometimes they are so dizzy and nauseated they don't want to eat or drink so you may have to hand feed (slowly), and also take out to go potty (using a towel sling can be handy). Don't let him around stairs and try not to let him jump up/down on furniture until he's doing better.

Typically, you want to see significant improvement within 3 or so days, and if not, you'll want to get him seen again so vet can advise how to proceed further (either by checking hydration, giving fluid support, possibly diagnostics to rule out other causes).

Here's hoping Buddy is doing better and will recover - if he recovers fully and on the off-chance it happens again, you may need to consider additional diagnostics (i.e., to rule out injury, inflammation or infection somewhere).

He has had all the tests and is improving a lot. He did have nystagmus but his eyes are not beating now. He is not throwing up any more, he did for 2 days. His head does tilt left. Only 2 steps in to the house and a ramp to get in the car. He is not in panic and anxiety mode anymore, I could tell he was since I have been there. I didn't leave him alone for days because it was so scary to him. I had to hold him up so he could potty he was so dizzy. Meclizine helped for a few days but that's just a mask. Oh he did get the anti nausea stuff and it worked. He still goes on a walk daily but they are short, his brain is working overtime to keep him standing so he tires out. He is doing very well actually and through it all his tail has been stuck on full wag. He's a very good boy.

Awww, poor little guy, I hope it doesn't happen again (if at any sign it does, don't wait, get him seen and additional testing).

Yes, it's scary, and it can be debilitating, but many cases resolve on their own (with your help like the sling, feeding slowly, anti-nausea meds etc) within several days or so - providing there isn't an underlying cause (like inner ear infection, perforated ear drum or other issues).

Hang in there, sounds like Buddy has the best dad/caretaker ever!
