Ken called Cornell for me. They couldn't give him a straight answer about when Dr. Center would be on clinics (there was some confusion over the schedule), but possibly in about 2 weeks. He wants them to have the biopsy results first (which makes sense) so he called her office directly again and wants to talk with her to arrange something special so she can see Mikey unless she'd be available in 3 or so weeks (depending on date of biopsy) when she's have the results and all.

Mikey is home again!

He had his biopsy on Thursday and stayed until tonight. They almost kept him longer but I promised to bring him in to CritiCare if I was at all concerned. He looks really good! He has 3 tiny incisions...only 1 suture to close each. No bruising and he's really comfortable. I am so glad we went with this option.

We'll have some results back next week, but the pathology might take longer since Center has to read it. She's out of town so Ken left her a message on the machine she is calling in to check.

After a bit of a rough weekend, we're back on track. M is eating reasonably and would much rather be playing some than restricted. He is gated upstairs. He has an appointment at Cornell for May 19th unless his biopsy results say we should try some other treatment first. Dr. Center called back today so I'm getting his things together to take up.

I'm glad to hear he's recovering fairly nicely, JMM, please update when you know more.....is it possible your vet can expedite the results before you have to send them on to Cornell? At least you'd have an idea, rather than have to wait until the 19th.

Hug Mikey for me and hang in there....

I should get the report before we leave. Dr. Center will call Mikey's internist. That way, if Dr. Center finds some changes and would rather just change meds and see how he does first, we can do that.

Metals - normal (iron slightly low, but not concerning)

Cultures - negative

Biopsy - MVD, less inflammation than last time, vacuolar changes, resolving ascending infection (probably the reason why his liver values went up and is secondary to GI issues)

His internist is calling Dr. Center to discuss it. She wasn't in the office when Dr. Center called the other day with the results. His internist is just the greatest. She said she'd call Dr. Center at home! Everyone at the specialist's office feels so bad that they haven't found anything to help him.
