I will do some research to see if I can find one close to where she is but basically she is in the middle of nowhere. She would drive a great distance for her dog though! Her dog isn't dragging her feet but today while she was in my yard we did notice a slight tightness or limp in her right hind leg. My mom will bring the DM to her current vets attention and see what he suggests. It's sad and also confusing as we really aren't 100% sure that it's just incontinence due to spay. Your posts have been very educational and I thank you so much!
DM is just a long shot perhaps, but I do think a second opinion is in order.
What sticks in my mind right now is that you said she seemed "down" (depressed) and was still panting. I have a question and it is did this vet do any thyroid testing on her? That's another avenue to explore, and could be another reason for the leaking, depression and the panting. If there's no teaching hospital nearby, then take her to a large clinic for a another opinion. Sometimes another vet sees what another does not, and when you're not getting answers, getting a second opinion is always the best thing to do. Good luck with this, and keep us posted.

Thyroid was not looked into and is something that we didn't even think about, thanks for bringing that to my attention. I will tell my mom to have the vet look into that also. You have been such a great help!
