We pass Lackland AFB in SW San Antonio on the way to my brother's home... wonder if this facility allows any visitors. Might be too sad though... Gadzooks I'm old: I remember in the late 1940s when the US Army held ceremonies celebrating the retirement of war horses (except for parade ground reviews etc.) since the Artillery and the Cavalry had become fully mechanized... but I guess there will always be a need for working dogs. At least these are being cared for...
War Dogs rehab
Re: War Dogs rehab
When I came home from overseas my brother had a rehab shepard guard dog that responded to German and American commands…as soon as I got off the train he told the dog in German to attack,,,but the command was set so the the dog would really not attack but would scare the heck out of the attackee…..me…the dog stopped about two feet in front of me but scared the living daylights out of me…When they are detrained they make excellent pets…
