Pebbles is grieving

Post by oconnorjoy »

Pebbles, my other pom, is grieving for her Bamm Bamm...they've been together since they were babies. She hasn't eaten or drank anything so far today. I'm going to get my husband to go and get some cheese to see if she is tempted. How long before I call my vet?

Poor Pebbles! My Nikki still hasn't been the same since Kujo died on May 21st. She is eating, however. But she's just not as well behaved as she used to be. I can't tell you when to call the vet, but I really do sympathize.

Thank you Judy...Pebbles finally ate something and had a drink. I'll give her lots of love to get through this.

I was showing my Mom Bamm Bamm's prayer thread :( Then we read this and she asked if Pebbles got to see Bamm Bamm for some sort of closure...

Many years ago, my brothers 2 dogs got out an open gate...Pinkie, the smaller one, was hit by a car and died...Bruno, it seems, managed to get her to the side of the road and sat with her...refused to leave...until someone came by and took him home with them...

Bruno actually did not manage to make it "home" for 2 more months when my mom happened to be driving by the house of the people who picked him up and recognized him...he was loose in the yard, so she called him...his ears perked up and he ran to her and jumped in the truck...he went home to my brother Easter Sunday...
they did stop by the place where Bruno was found, and the people told them where they found Bruno and Pinkie...

But....Bruno stayed with Pinkie and seemed to have that closure that we may not think animals need, even though we have viewings for funerals just for that reason for humans...

Sorry I did not mean to make this so long...but maybe Pebbles needs some sort of closure...if that is not possible...is there a blankie or bedding where Bamm Bamm laid that she could have?

glad to know she ate and drank something at least...give her lots of loving...you all need it...

I'm so glad she's eating again.

Wow, someone else from Alberta. I think we are a minority on this forum.

Tambrey...Bamm Bamm slept with us...his smell is everywhere. He owned the house and everyone in it. Barry buried Bamm Bamm down by the river where he used to love walking...we are going to take Pebbles down there tonight to say goodbye...I haven't been there either so I need to say goodbye as well.
Thank you for caring...and everyone else who replied to Bamm Bamm's prayer request too.
