He didn't get it, but it got him! Mr. Blue and a skunk...
...had a run-in last night, and we're all still smelling the results today. I washed him down well, but it's taking time to wash the clothes and blankets he came in contact with. YUCK!! I've explained to him many times not to go after the black and white monster, but he's just not getting it. Do you think he ever will, or are we doomed to repeat this smelly scenarioi?

You're doomed
Just in case:
1 qt. 3% H2O2 (hydrogen peroxide)
1/4 c. baking soda
1 t. liquid dish soap (i.e., Dawn)
Apply, work through fur, rinse with clear water, repeat as necessary. Be sure to rinse well after each application.
If all else fails, ask your vet for a bottle of Skunk-Off, but also ask for an opthalmic ointment to protect your dog's eyes while using this or any application

Oh, Mary! That's awful. I fear that with Honey when she goes out at night.
One time...I took her out and was standing on the deck when all of a sudden I see her practically face to face with a little skunk ! I called her but she was wagging her tail - like- goodie, a little friend to play with....so I yelled "HAMBURGER" and she came to me right away. Pepe sprayed but missed her. She is such a goof- loves McDonald's hamburgers....so for being so good I took her to get one. That is the one word she will run right back for.
Poor Mr. Blue and you! I copied Traci's recipe just in case.

I was afraid of that! My husband washed his eyes with an eye wash last night. They were tearing up; I think the monster got him right in the face! Thanks for the cleaner recipe! We both remembered the Dawn, but not the rest. Well. it could be worse. Mr. Blue smells likle clean dishes now!

I remember one Easter Morning many years back, Mom had 4 dogs on her farm...Sheba and 3 of her pups)yes, Sheba did get spayed but was a drop-off oroginally..
anyways...this easter morning, Mom went out to put food and water down adn there all 4 saat...right outside the door...all 4 faces twisted in a grimace and ears up...and the stench of Skunk!!....ONE of them was visited by the Easter Skunk...hahaha...
Mom had to get to church, so the poor dogs had to wait until she returned to determine which one was visiting with the skunk and get rid of the smell!!
