Winnie went back for her monthly UA (2 stone surgeries require this) today, and they found too much protein, so she goes back tomorrow to get a sterile sample. They also did bloodwork today in conjuction with a thyroid test. The Vet said it could mean that her kidneys are not functioning properly, or it could be an infection starting. Of course I am hoping for the latter, but realize she will be 13 next month. I will try not to worry until all the tests are done.
If it is the former, what can we expect? I did have an 18 yr cat with renal failure, but I'm not sure if things would be similar in dogs.
Winnie may have renal problems
Re: Winnie may have renal problems
you would have tohave a little more information to predict what would happend if it were a kidney malfunction...with the info you have3 it is impossible to predict...might be good to wai a litt longer because the term of info that the kidneys are not functioning properly....that tells one nothing...wait for a little mor info before you start worrying==good luck
