repellent/boundary products ... do they work

Post by GA Jamie »

I'm having a time trying to teach our dog not to void or drop his waste in my flower beds. I've looked at repellents but am not sure if they will work or not. The worst of this is that he has chosen the flower bed immediately next to our back door. I'd appreciate any suggestions you can give.

Thanks,
Jamie

PS ... how do I change my email address on this site?

I don't know if it works, but I would think you'd have to reapply it often. If low garden fencing doesn't keep him out, you may have to retrain him to use an area that you want.....especially good treats and lots of praise when he goes in the right spot. Maybe those puppy pads would help in this case also. Put it where he goes, and gradually move it closer to where you want him to go.

My dogs use the gardens as a cooling off place, and the grass....well, watch your step! Sometimes I think gardens belong in the front yard and dogs in the back.....but I know where you're coming from!
