Sleepy Puppy ???

A girl I work with has a puppy. She's had her for only a few days, but she's tells me the puppy sleeps almost constanly. Doesnt sound normal to me. I told her to get into the vet but thought Id ask here in the meantime. TIA.

Do you know if the puppy has had all it's vaccinations? There are a few pretty serious deseases that could cause lathargy in a puppy - parvovirus for one - how's the pup's appetite?

I agree with your advice to your friend to have the vet check out the puppy.... if this were my dog, I'd be at the vet's ASAP to make sure everything was okay. Better safe than sorry....

Thanks jdf, I think she may have over-stated it a little. Now she's telling me the puppy kept her up all night wanting to play . Still, a trip to the vet ASAP regardless. Thanks again.
