Siberian Husky Help!!!!!!!
Siberian Husky Help!!!!!!!
I was wondering if someone could help me! My 3-month-old siberian husky is getting really possesive and aggressive. I bought a siberian husky because I thought they had such a gentle temperment, but whenever I go to feed her, she snaps at me. She has a kennel in the house for when we are not home and she snaps at anyone who comes near her. I have two young children and I hope this is not showing how mean she is going to get. I am really distraught over this. Whenever it is nice outside, we have her outside playing so she gets a lot of exercise. Does anyone know if this is typical of this breed or what I can do to make this stop?
Re: Siberian Husky Help!!!!!!!
You should probably get her to your vet for a full exam to rule out potential illness (if she is suffering from an illness or pain, she will snap)

Thanks for the info! I'll see what a vet says, also. I didn't think that was in their character to be like that.
Re: Siberian Husky Help!!!!!!!
Very few breeds are predisposed to agressive behavior....much of the behavior issues will depend on the dogs's environment, interaction to humans and training. In a puppy this young, she should be active, energetic, playful and nearly demanding attention from you and your family. For this reason, first get her examined by your vet (also try to get a fecal done), and if she isn't spayed/vaccinated yet, might be a good time to discuss that with your vet.
On another note, do be sure your young children are not agitating her in some way unbeknownst to you. Not saying for certain they are, just want to rule that out as a possibility for her sudden behavior.

Re: Siberian Husky Help!!!!!!!
When I got her at 6 weeks, the living environments were awful and I should have just turned away right there, but I felt so sorry for her. She was brought up fighting for food with a rottweiler puppy (very much bigger than she was) and she had a scar on her head and a scar on her foot that I found out after we brought her home and gave her a bath. She does great with the kids outside and loves playing with them and stuff. But when it comes to her "area" like her kennel or her food, she behaves like that. She was that way when we first brought her home, so I don't think it is health issues, but merely the way she was brought up issue. Does anyone have any advice on how to curtail this? Do I need to get rid of the kennel that I am keeping her in at night?
Re: Siberian Husky Help!!!!!!!
First things first, get her evaluated by your vet please.

Yeah, because she has had diarrhea quite a lot off and on.
