I had posted in here a few months ago about my Sato named Sadie. http://www.cathelp-online.com/phpBB2/vi ... php?t=3507
Sadie has bounced back amazingly well. All of tests come back normal. No lingering kidney or liver problems. She is fatter than she has ever been. She is however almost completely blind. Last Friday she had one of her eyes removed because the pressure from the glaucoma had not gone down. We and several vets believe that she is getting some shadow of light in the eye she still has -- not enough to cause any pupil reactions though -- which may help her in finding her way around.
She is currently having to deal with the Elizabethian Collar and is only BARELY tolerating. She goes back in to have her stitches removed this coming Monday. There are pictures of her here: http://www.kiltedflower.com/gallery/sadie with pictures of her through her sickness here http://www.kiltedflower.com/gallery/sadiesick
I urge everyone who has a hint that something may be wrong with your pet to please press your vet to find out what is wrong. If you get an odd feeling about your vet, get a second opinion. Sadie's troubles could have been fixed a lot sooner with a lot fewer complications had the vet just seen her.
So far, I HIGHLY rate Dr Anita Trom at the Westside Animal Clinic in Worcester, MA. And... I will say many bad things about Dr Rice from the Holden Vet Clinic in Holden, MA.
