Dogs and the cold

Post by Leanne and Cole »

Sad to say, but I had to contact the local humane society today after I saw a dog outside in this frigid weather. When I called back to the shelter this afternoon I was told the dog did have some frostbite on his paws but was otherwise o.k. I just drives me crazy to think that people could subject their animals to that! I guess some people think that because their dog is a large breed it won't be affected by the cold but what a crock!

I'm fairly sure that we aren't supposed to advertise on here, but I do know of a manufacturer of very fine dog boots, complete with rubber treads. If anyone has a dog that can't stand the cold, contact me and I'll put you in touch with the website. I hope that's alright with the admins.
They have made a huge difference for my dog!

Stay warm everyone!

Leanne, you didn't say anything wrong  , that's Davet's way of echoing your distaste for owners who don't take better care of their dogs.

You can post the site for the boots, not a problem. It's spamming/solicitation/distributing we don't allow.

Just a little misunderstanding we had... I am the newbie after all!

The boots (and other wonderful products) are available at:

www.neopaws.com

They ship VERY quickly and there are sizing charts you can download. I am looking at becoming a sales agent for her but so far, no luck.

Please, let me know you if buy them. I think they're phenominal!

My boss keeps his dogs outside but brings them in when it's really cold. This is one point we don't see eye to eye on. I think dogs are part of the family. Not something you keep out in a pen in the back yard. When it's really cold, he'll bring them in and let them stay in a crate all day and night. Maybe I should find a new boss.
