Claims to be a natural enzymatic antifungal, antibacterial, antiviral, derived from natural milk (or egg white) enzymes (lactoperoxidase, lysozyme and lactoferrin).......to treat anything from skin conditions to staph and ecoli.

Hmmm.

Oh and Rachel, apparently, one clinic was so impressed they asked PetKing to sell only to them, they claim PetKing took it off the market and now only exclusively sells to that one clinic. Amazing, just amaaaaazing.

I use the otic formula for Allie's chronic ear infections (Malassezia). It works great. Completely clears them up in only a few days. One treatment every couple of weeks keeps them in check. Nothing the vet gave me worked; this does.

The antimicrobial enzymes in the product, lysozyme in particular, are produced naturally by many cells (I believe all eukaryotes produce it - not sure about bacteria). Lysozyme is one of the very powerful antimicrobial enzymes produced by macrophages, and it is present in most body secretions (most notably tears). From a biological perspective, it made sense to me that it could work and I figured it was worth a try.

I hope it's still available from the site where I buy it, I'd hate to find that I can no longer get it.

hmmmmm....

Well, I'm in Canada so we probably could never get it here anyway (we can't get many of the products you guys in the States can get ... meds, pet foods etc) :?

For ear infections my Vet has rxed Surolan drops. (miconazole nitrate, polymyxin B and prednisolone acetate)
